When a citizen of a country is informed, democracy becomes strong.  Lack of crucial information with the citizen of India not only encourages corruption as those indulging in corruption are tempted, either to withold the information or to menouever it against the interest of the subject.  Say for example, there is a tendency to prefer a candidate favorable to those in charge of government employment, as against a real meritorious candidate who deserves govt. job!  By seeking appropriate information, it is now possible to ascertain correct position on the government records, this deters those indulging in corruption!
